Need laulud on loodud põhiliselt 80.-l aastatel Ott Arderi luuletustele (ja välja antud CD-l “Maasikad”) kuid kavas on ka uuemaid lastelaule. Klassikalaulja ettekandes pole need muidugi enam AINULT lastele, vaid peaksid olema samavõrd nauditavad – ja sageli naljakad – ka täiskasvanutele.

Rein Rannap (composer, arranger and perfomer): “On this album, I’m playing many different keyboard instruments. Whereas when recording, I can easily pile up as many instruments as Iwish, performing live I can make them sound simultaneously thanks to the looper. The loops, repeating musical phrases, aren’t they like small knots woven into the fabric of time? The pieces on this album were composed for my 2022 summer tour, celebrating 25 years from the very first tour. The title has remained the same: “The Piano Comes into Your Village.” Back then I played in an-cient churches in the Estonian countryside, tugging along my grand piano. Now I had four instruments transported: my concert grand plus a prepared piano, a harmonium and a synth, and I used extensively the looper. On the album, even more keyboards are employed, and the pieces further elaborated.

All instruments are recorded in different locations: harmonium at the Holy Spirit Church in Tallinn, harpsichord at the Music Academy, celesta in the orchestra pit of the National Opera, pianos in various places. The piano preparation involves here mainly three methods: pieces of rubber are placed between the lower strings for imitating the sound of various drums; the middle strings are partly covered by plasticine to achieve a muffled sound; alternately are the strings – lower and higher- equipped with crews and bolts between them to obtain a gonglike tone colour. All percussive sounds on this album are recorded on the piano.”
